November sits between half-term and the Christmas rush. Festive trips, year-end business travel and ski departures still keep Heathrow and Luton busy, and car parks tighten earlier than many travellers expect. A short parking checklist will save you money, fines and last-minute stress.

Why November needs a parking plan
November is quieter than peak summer, but it is not empty. Booking advice for 2026 holiday travel is consistent: reserve parking about four to eight weeks ahead, and treat Christmas spaces as a separate rush that often needs booking in October or early November.
Add London road rules into the mix and sorting parking the night before becomes expensive. Heathrow sits inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone. Luton does not, but its terminal approach roads and barrier rules are strict. Cover both the airport and the drive there.
Heathrow checklist: ULEZ, drop-off and the right APP service
1. Check ULEZ before you leave home
Transport for London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone covers all London boroughs and operates 24 hours a day, every day except Christmas Day. If your vehicle does not meet the emissions standards, the daily charge is £12.50. Heathrow’s terminals sit inside that zone.
Important: Air Park Pro does not cover ULEZ on any package, including Business Class. Drive a non-compliant vehicle in on drop-off day and again on collection day and you may owe two daily charges. check your vehicle on TfL’s official ULEZ checker if you need to, or choose parking that keeps your car outside the zone.
2. Know the Heathrow terminal drop-off charge
Heathrow’s official Terminal Drop-Off Charge is £7 each time a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off area. Payment is online or by phone. If you pay after your visit, settle by midnight the next day. Meet and Greet handovers usually use designated meeting points, but still budget for airport access fees unless your package says they are included.
3. Match the APP Heathrow tier to your trip
- Park & Ride: Secure yard outside the ULEZ with a complimentary shuttle. Live page shows parking from £29.99. EV charging is a paid add-on.
- Economy Meet & Greet: Kerbside value. Check live rates. You remain responsible for ULEZ and the Terminal Drop-Off Zone charge. EV charging is a paid add-on.
- Premium Meet & Greet: Priority timing. Check live rates. ULEZ still sits with you. Terminal Drop-Off Zone charge is not covered on Premium. EV charging is a paid add-on.
- Business Class: Heathrow only. Complimentary EV charge and car wash. Drop-off zone fees covered for up to 15 minutes. ULEZ is still not covered. Check live rates.
Park & Ride is the clearest way to keep the car outside the ULEZ for the parking stay. Meet and Greet is faster with luggage or children once zone and forecourt charges are in your budget.

Luton checklist: red routes, barriers and Economy vs Premium
Luton Airport is outside the London ULEZ, so you do not pay the TfL £12.50 charge simply for arriving at LTN. You can still trigger ULEZ if your route crosses Greater London in a non-compliant vehicle.
1. Stay off the red routes
Approach roads near the terminal are enforced as red routes. Stopping to unload outside the approved area can bring an instant fine (APP terms warn of a £95 penalty). Only meet your driver in the designated zone shown in your booking instructions.
2. Decide who pays the Luton barrier fees
Air Park Pro offers Economy and Premium Meet and Greet at Luton. There is no Business Class at Luton, and no EV charging on Luton bookings.
- Luton Economy: You pay £10 on entry and £10 on exit at the barrier (to the Luton service provider). Your APP daily rate stays lower because those fees are separate.
- Luton Premium: Standard entry and exit / drop-off fees are included for up to 15 minutes.
Always check live rates for the parking days themselves. Barrier rules above are fixed APP product wording; daily prices move with demand.
3. Call ahead, every time
Call about 20 minutes before you arrive so the driver is waiting. On return, call after landing and again after baggage reclaim. That habit prevents overstays in chargeable zones.
EV charging: what is free and what is not
- Business Class at Heathrow: complimentary EV charge.
- Park & Ride, Economy or Premium at Heathrow: EV charging is a paid add-on (book ahead; leave enough charge to move the car safely).
- Luton: EV charging is not offered.
November and Christmas booking tips
- Book four to eight weeks out for ordinary November trips where you can.
- For Christmas and New Year, treat early November as your latest comfortable window.
- Compare total cost: ULEZ on Heathrow routes, Heathrow’s £7 drop-off if relevant, and Luton’s £10 + £10 on Economy.
- Allow road time for November traffic and works on approaches such as the M1 near Luton.
